Spirit Husband — Pastor Samuel Kumbirayi Guzha

When we spoke on the phone, I sensed the weight of her distress, but I told her it would be better for us to meet in person. I suggested meeting after work, but she quickly objected.

“The meeting must be over before it gets dark,” she said firmly. “I have to be home before nightfall.”

I pressed her for a reason, but she hesitated.

“I am not allowed to be out after dark,” she finally admitted. Her words were strange and unsettling.

She was afraid to be in public and in the company of many people. I agreed and we met for tea at a local restaurant, a busy place where there would be a lot of movement and many people. I wanted to see what would happen when darkness comes and how she was affected by a crowd of people.

At exactly 4:30 p.m., she arrived. From the moment she sat down, I noticed her uneasiness. Her hands trembled slightly as she fidgeted with the edge of her sleeve. Her eyes darted across the room, scanning the crowd as if expecting someone or something to appear.

I watched her carefully before asking, “Why did you say you must be home before dark?”

She hesitated, avoiding my gaze. When she finally spoke, her voice was barely above a whisper.

“Because my bridegroom does not allow it.”

The words sent a chill down my spine. I leaned in.

“Your bridegroom?”

She swallowed hard before answering.

“Yes… I am married to Satan.”

The weight of her confession hit me like a hammer. For a moment, I thought I had misheard her.

Married to Satan?

You are reading correctly that she was married to Satan. In my naivety in this area, I told her that it was impossible.

CHAPTER ONE

Married to the Devil

One day a certain lady called me. She had been referred by one of our pastors. This lady was from another church and had been referred to this particular pastor who in turn referred her to me.

This is her story:

She said one day when she was in her teens, she was playing by herself, and she started to say that she loved the devil and wanted him to be her bridegroom. She said she took it lightly and thought it was just a joke. From that day, she started to notice some difference in her behaviour, and she started to hear a voice speaking to her and giving her instructions on what to do. She started to behave as if she was married to someone, and everything she did was what she had been told to do.

I noticed she had a French name and it meant a flower, but if you check the actual meaning of her name it is “Of the Devil”. Just imagine what a coincidence it was for her parents to give her that name and she ended up being a bride of the devil. That is why it is important to know the actual meaning of the names we give our children.

She was haunted by a troubled past and plagued by dizziness, nausea, and uncontrollable anger during her commute to work, she sought prayer for relief. She revealed a history of childhood abuse, teenage pregnancy, and failed relationships fueled by her own volatile temper. This anger, she believed, had a spiritual root, driving her to early promiscuity and a pregnancy with a teenage boy who refused responsibility. As a result, her child now lived with her mother, a constant reminder of her past struggles. [Cannot put all the details to protect her identity and her family]

Her life was about loneliness at home and the comfort of this overbearing presence at home - her husband. The Devil!

She really needed a breakthrough!

As we spoke, she kept glancing anxiously toward the fading light outside. "It’s getting dark," she whispered, her voice laced with unease. "I need to leave." I met her gaze and assured her, "Nothing will happen to you. You’re safe here." But the fear in her eyes remained. She was not convinced.

I wanted to see how far this invisible force controlled her, so I gently urged her to stay. The more we spoke, the deeper she was drawn into our discussion. She hung onto every word, her curiosity momentarily overpowering her fear. But even as she listened, her body remained tense, her fingers nervously twisting the edge of her sleeve. "The devil does not want me outside after dark," she admitted.

As I observed her more closely, something else stood out; every single item of clothing she wore was black. When I asked her about it, she explained that she was forbidden by her bridegroom Satan to wear anything of another colour. "Everything I own is black," she said flatly.

I would later confirm this when we visited her home to pray with her. Black dresses, black trousers, black shoes, black scarves, black handbags and even her underwear. Not a single thread of colour existed in her wardrobe. The darkness that surrounded her was not just spiritual, it was woven into every fabric of her life.

By the time our meeting ended, it was past 7:00 p.m., and night had fallen. For the first time in what seemed like years, she had lost track of time. She had been so consumed by the revelations she was hearing that she only realized the darkness outside when she stepped out of the restaurant. Her flat was about a kilometre away though she hesitated for a moment, she allowed me to call a taxi to take her home.

She began attending counselling sessions with us, but the darkness over her life remained evident. One afternoon, she visited our home to speak with my wife. As they talked, my wife noticed something unsettling. Her face appeared as if she were wearing the skull of an old man.

She remained uneasy the entire time, restless and distracted, as though something unseen still held her in its grip.

Firstly, as a rule, we always advise the person who comes to us for deliverance to attend our services, so that they will have a view of how we worship. Secondly, we have discovered that a lot of people are not filled with the Word and this poses a danger spiritually when they are empty. They are vulnerable to more demonic attacks when they eventually start to maintain their deliverance “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. 44 Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So, shall it also be with this wicked generation.” (Matthew 12:43-45)

She started coming to our church for a season of her deliverance and every time during praise and worship she would just disappear. Abigail, my wife, went to look for her. She was always found standing in the toilet and would refuse to come into the church. She would spend the duration of the service standing in the toilet. She did this on two different occasions.

The day before her appointment for her deliverance, we received a call from her friend who lived near her asking me to come to her flat. When we got there, we found her recoiled in a corner and saying that her “bridegroom”, who happens to be the devil, was angry with her for going for counselling and exposing him.

I told her to stand in the middle of the house and we started to pray for her. Whilst praying for her, I placed my palm on top of her head. As the prayers intensified, I discovered that I was standing on my toes. When I looked at her, I noticed that her feet were off the ground and she was floating. She was levitating. I just removed my hand off her head and commanded her in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to come down. There and then she slumped onto the floor.

She started to cry saying that she was seeing her children, some of them with red eyes and others with blue eyes. She emphasized that those with red eyes were dangerous and the ones with blue eyes were gentle. What this meant was that all along, as she was married to the devil, she had been giving birth to spirit children. After praying for her for some time, we then agreed to meet the following day to finish other areas of her deliverance we needed to cover.

The following day we met at our church head office. As we were praying for her, she surprised us when she cried out that she was giving birth to more children. She even took the posture of a woman in labour. She was sweating, shouting and screaming in the same way as a woman in labour does. We ended up saying we were going to perform a caesarean operation in the spirit. As we did that, she started shouting that the children were coming out and we commanded these spirit children to be destroyed by the blood of Jesus and in the name of Jesus. She made so much noise that the other pastor in the office next to the one we were using came to check what was going on. He had thought that someone was being beaten. My wife was the one who was performing the caesarean operation in the spirit on her stomach and I was standing in agreement with her.

After this, she just crawled under the table and passed out for about an hour. When she came around, she was totally delivered and with a radiant appearance. Glory to God! Days later, she began wearing colour again.

Today, she is happily married with two beautiful children, a testimony to God’s power to restore and redeem.

Here is a similar true story that happened in America. I came across this story many years after we had dealt with a woman in the story above. What struck me about these stories is that they are more or less the same.

A pastor in Colorado Springs encountered a woman named Angel (Name changed for confidentiality), who had been deeply involved in the occult. During her deliverance session, something unthinkable happened.

A solid black chicken walked into the restaurant where they were meeting. It hopped onto an empty chair and stared directly at Angel.

Her face twisted in terror. “I want an egg,” she muttered.

As the pastor approached the chicken, it jumped off the chair and ran toward the door. It left behind an unnaturally large egg.

Angel recoiled in horror. Inside that egg, she claimed, were the ten children she had given birth to through spiritual intercourse with Satan.

She was told to break the egg, but she resisted. “I can’t break this egg!” she cried.

With a final, piercing scream, she dropped it, and as it shattered, thick, blood-red fluid spilled onto the floor.

At that moment, the demonic covenant was broken, and Angel was delivered.

The battle against spirit husbands and wives is real, hidden in plain sight, yet wreaking silent havoc in the lives of many. In the chapters ahead, you will encounter true stories of those who have unknowingly suffered under their grip and their struggles echoing in ways that may feel eerily familiar.

These spirits operate with deception and subtlety, often leading people to blame circumstances, personal weaknesses, or even the wrong spiritual forces while the true enemy remains undetected. But ignorance is their greatest weapon, and exposure is the first step to freedom.

Prepare yourself. Some of these accounts will send shivers down your spine, but they will also reveal the power of God to set the captives free. The next chapter will unveil how these spirits operate, the signs of their presence, and the unseen battles many are fighting without even realizing it.

Are you unknowingly entangled in a spiritual covenant? It’s time to find out.

In the next chapter, we will expose how spirit husbands and wives infiltrate lives, how they disguise their presence and why so many people suffer under their grip unknowingly. It’s time to uncover the truth behind these spiritual forces and learn how to fight back.

Key points for discussion based on the story.

The Role of Words and Declarations: 1. How do the words we speak affect our spiritual lives? 2. What are the potential consequences of making declarations, even in jest, about spiritual matters?

Signs of Spiritual Oppression: 1. What are some of the signs and symptoms of spiritual oppression? 2. How can one recognize if they are under spiritual attack?
